Edwin W. Meyers, Jr., age 95, passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 26, 2026. He was born in Utica, New York, the son of the late Edwin Meyers, Sr. and Hazel Meyers. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Kurt. He is survived by his loving wife, Karen, son, Eric (Tracey Mayberry and grandson Anthony Mayberry), daughter Cheryl, grandchildren Will Meyers (Wendy) and Rachel Bauer (Matt Love).

After graduating from Syracuse University, Ed settled in Penfield, NY with the love of his life, Karen. He spent many years working in International Procurement at Xerox until he retired at the age of 57. We use the word “retired” lightly, because Ed never stopped working. If you were shopping anywhere in Rochester, you probably ran into Ed. He had multiple jobs in sales, peddled dog food at Pet Smart, and demonstrated tools at Home Depot. Ed’s final idea of retirement was becoming the sample guy at Costco, working 30 hours a week until he was 95. He loved to make people laugh, with his “dad jokes” leaving a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. When asked how he was, his ready response was, “Living the dream!”

Ed's hobbies and interests helped define who he was. He was a master of trivia and loved history. His passion for all things old, heavy and made of iron was something he shared with fellow tool lovers that became good friends. He also helped manage the Southwest Tool Library, a tool lending resource for the community.

Despite his many responsibilities, he always made time for his family, whom he loved above all. We find comfort in knowing that Ed's legacy lives on through the lessons he taught us, the love he shared, and the memories we will cherish forever.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 4-7 p.m. at Jennings Nulton & Mattle Funeral Home, 1704 Penfield Road, Penfield.
