Phyllis A. Steensma Obituary

Fairport - a life-long Christian passed into the arms of her Lord on February 25, 2026 at 80 years old.


She was predeceased by her husband, Fred C. Steensma, and son, Clinton S. Steensma. She is survived by her sister, Becky Bivone; brother, Ted (Janet) Dys; special nephew, Dan (Jolanda) Steensma; and many nieces and nephews.


Phyllis was born in Rochester, NY to Philip and Dorothea Dys, graduated from East High School, SUNY Brockport, and MCC. She taught elementary school in Webster, and psychology at Monroe Community College. She was a member of the Rochester Christian Reformed Church. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and aunt.


Family and friends are invited to visitation at Jennings, Nulton & Mattle Funeral Home, 1704 Penfield Road, on Tuesday March 3, 2026 from 10am-12pm with a service to immediately follow at 12pm. Interment at Oakwood Cemetery following the service.
