Fairport, February 4, 2026, at the age of 65. Benjamin is predeceased by his parents, Carel and Lammechien Smeenk.
Benjamin is survived by his devoted sister, Margot (George) Hanley, brothers, Pieter (Carol), Carl (Kathryn), Case (Lorraine Slomovic), Arnold (Anne) and Harry (Lynn). Ben was very involved in the lives of his nieces and nephews, Joseph (Jenna) Hanley, Patrick (Kayla) Hanley, Kaitlyn (Dale) Estabaya, Heather (Noah) Vogler, Amanda (Jeff) Carpenter, Jason (Lindsey) Smeenk, Rachel (Kent) Potts, Stephen Smeenk, Michael (Stephanie) Smeenk, Stephen (Julie) Smeenk, Elisabeth (James) Walker, Christopher (Meghan) Smeenk, Brandon (Rachel) McCoy, Nicole (Adam) Bamford, Matthew Smeenk and many great nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Service at Pittsford Community Church, 421 Marsh Road, Pittsford on Saturday, February 28, at 11:00 am. Please join us for a lunch and fellowship following the Service.
At Woodside Manor, on Friday February 13th, the Woodside Community of residents, staff and Benjamin’s immediate family will have a Memorial Service at 11:00am followed by fellowship and lunch.
In his memory, donations may be made to Woodside Manor Nursing Home (please note on check "In Memory of Ben Smeenk"). These donations will be used for resident activities. Donations could also be considered for the American Kidney Foundation. Ben was very involved in the Rochester Kidney Foundation and Donate Life. He was a participant in the Kidney Transplant Games.
Ben is remembered as "A staple in our Woodside Manor family and will be truly missed."
