Carol was known by many names: Carol, Care, Molly, Toot, Mrs. V., Mrs. Venton, Mom, Ma, Gramma, Gramma Molly, Mammas, and Big G.  She was born in 1933 in Syracuse NY. She was the fifth of ten children born to George and Carrie Carlton. A large family with lots of love. At the age of 7 her family moved to Tully NY, and she went on to graduate from Tully high school. It was during her high school years where she met her future husband Davey (a.k.a. Vent). They were married in 1951. Molly and Vent eventually set roots in Fairport NY in 1963. They raised their family and became friends and substitute parents to many of their children’s friends. Molly is known by many as their “second mom”. She always welcomed anyone into the house, often adding chairs to the kitchen table so they could stay for dinner. Many gatherings took place at the Fairport house. Fun was had by all. She loved everyone and made sure everyone was cared for. To this day, her door remains open to all. Sundays and Holidays are a standing large gathering. Crazy and loud, just like she liked it.

At the end when Molly was in the hospital, she got to visit with most of her family. One night her bed was surrounded by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She took time to talk to each one. She told them that she loved them, and they were beautiful. She also told them to take care of each other. The room was filled with so much love.

As sad as we are to be without her, we know that she has missed Vent every day for the past 13 years. Finally, two halves are again made whole: Gramma and Papa, Molly and Vent, Carol and Dave. Finally dancing together again.

There will be a Mass on Wednesday, November 19 @ 1:00PM at The Church of the Resurrection on 63 Mason Road in Fairport. There will be a reception at the church following Mass.

In Lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Fairport Fire Department.
