Eva Loreta Faber Graham
January 12, 1929 – October 27, 2025
Eva passed away peacefully at home with her son and daughter by her side. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, John Jr.; her children, Mary Ann and John III; and her son-in-law, Joseph Nasso.
She is survived by her children, Bob (Leslie), John IV, and Jennifer; her grandchildren, Tyler (Monica) and Erica; and her great-grandchildren, Addison, Avery, and Ethan. She also leaves behind her sisters-in-law, Carol Marra and Joan Aragona, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Eva was born on the family farm in Prattsburgh, New York, to John and Mary (Ciurus) Faber, the twelfth of fourteen children. She often prided herself on being able to name all of her siblings later in life: Anna, Sally, John, Tony, Helen, Ed, Ted, Walter, Walter, Betty, Marty, herself (“me,” as she’d say), Richard, and Janet. Life on the farm was full of hard work but also great joy and laughter.
At age eleven, she moved with her parents to Rochester—a change she initially resisted so much that she ran away to her brother John’s farm—but in time she came to appreciate the opportunities it provided.
Eva began her education in a one-room schoolhouse, where she discovered a lifelong love of learning thanks to her teacher, Miss Aggie Crean. She graduated from Madison High School in 1947, the only one of her siblings to graduate from a city school. She continued her education through night classes and courses at the University of Rochester until she married the love of her life, John (“Johnny”) Graham, whom she met while both were working at Kodak. They were married on June 27, 1949, and shared 69 wonderful years together.
Eva embraced motherhood at age 25 and dedicated herself to her family and home. Known as the “Hostess with the Mostess,” she loved entertaining family, friends, and international guests—whether at their home on Tammy Drive or later in Cocoa Beach. While raising her children, she volunteered with St. Joseph’s School, the Penfield Volunteer Ambulance, the Red Cross, and served as President of the Women’s Association at Penfield Country Club.
Her “claim to fame” was her homemade wine, lovingly bottled in old Pepsi glass bottles in the family basement. As her children grew, Eva became an avid traveler—walking the Great Wall of China, praying at the Wailing Wall in Israel, and exploring many corners of the world with her husband by her side.
In retirement, she kept active and joyful—walking the beach in search of seashells, sharing her love of swimming and golf with her grandchildren, organizing the monthly Faber breakfast, completing the daily crossword before church, enjoying André on the balcony, working out at Curves, and making her regular trips to Publix or Wegmans for scratch-off tickets.
We couldn’t have asked for a better Mom, Grandma, Great-Grandma, Sister, or Aunt. Her warmth, humor, and love will be cherished forever.
Eva's Funeral Mass will be on Friday, November 7th, 11:00 a.m., St. Joseph's Church, 43 Gebhart Road, Penfield. A reception will follow at the Learning Center in the church. Interment Oakwood Cemetery, 1975 Baird Road, Penfield, NY. at 2:00 p.m.
