Martin Gilbert Rogers, 71, of Penfield, NY, passed away suddenly on October 13, 2025. Born on December 5, 1953 in Batavia, NY, he was a devoted husband to Anne Rogers for 51 years and loving father to Elizabeth (Stephen) Valentine. 

Marty was hard-working and dedicated. After 17 years of night school he received his undergraduate degree in accounting from RIT and his Masters of Business Administration from St John Fisher College. He spent the last 12 years working in Indiana at Radian Research Inc as a VP of Finance. Despite his many responsibilities at work, he always made time for all of the important events in his family members’ lives and traveled  home on weekends just to spend a day with those he loved. 

Marty’s hobbies and interests helped define who he was. He enjoyed walking/running, marathons, triathlons, hiking, biking, fishing, visiting the National Parks, scouting activities with his grandsons, and golf. His love for these hobbies was something he shared leaving a mark that will never fade.  He was always on the sidelines cheering on his grandchildren in their various sports; cross country, track and field, skiing, Little League, swimming. CYO basketball, robotics, and soccer. He was known to stand in freezing temperatures for hours just to capture a 10 second video of his grandkids skiing past him. 

Marty was predeceased by his parents, Gilbert Rogers and Geraldine Merry. He is survived by his wife, Anne, his daughter, Elizabeth (Stephen) Valentine, grandchildren, Jack, Nicholas, Ryan, and Grace Valentine, brothers James Rogers, Robert (Rosa) Rogers, sister  Dianne (Larry) Futrell, sister-in-law Margaret Coler, along with nieces, Diane (Donald) Stillman, Maureen (Mike) Clarke, Kathleen (Bryan) Townsend, Jamie Rogers, nephews Daniel Coler, Robert (Jo) Coler, Graham Davis, Kurt Rogers, many great nieces, great nephews, and many close friends who will miss him dearly. 

Calling hours will be held at Jennings, Nulton & Mattle Funeral Home, 1704 Penfield Rd on Thursday October 23, 2025 from 4-7pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St Joseph’s Church 43 Gebhardt Rd Penfield, NY on Friday October 24, 2025 at 10:30am 

Interment at St Joseph’s Cemetery will follow Mass. Family and friends are invited to gather back at St Joseph’s Church following services in the gathering space for light food and refreshments.  

We all find comfort in knowing that Marty’s legacy lives on through the lessons he taught us, the love he shared, and the memories we will all cherish forever.
