Edward DeJong passed away October 8th, at the age of 78 , after a lengthily illness. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Barbara; his loving children, Michael (Lori) DeJong and Melissa (Curtis) Woods. He was loved by his grandchildren, Nicholas, Maya, Michael and Justin; by his siblings, Margaret (David) Luce, Armand DeJong, Elizabeth DeJong, David (Margo) DeJong, and Paul (Maria) DeJong; brother-in-law, Steven Pagano (Barbara) and by many nieces and nephews and devoted friends.

Ed was born in Sommerville, NJ, where he was a graduate of the Academy of Aeronautics. He earned his Bachelor's degree from the University of Rochester. Ed spent his entire career at Xerox as a Mechanical Engineer and proudly worked on numerous projects involving design for the environment.

Ed was an avid hunter and fisherman, spending many years as part of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. He was grateful to be part of the Keuka Lake community and considered it his happy place. 

Our family would like to express our sincere gratitude to our close friends who helped in so many ways during some difficult times, as well as those caregivers who have become part of our family. 

Friends are invited to attend his Memorial Visitation at Jennings, Nulton and Mattle Funeral Home, 1704 Penfield Road, Saturday, October 18th, from 1-3pm.
