Reta Marian Bulau Heslor (1943-2025)
Known for her thoughtfulness and generosity, snazzy Ford Mustangs, and most especially her
love for her poodles, Reta Heslor, 82, of Webster, NY, passed away peacefully at home on
September 19h.
Reta was born in Rochester, NY in 1943 to Ruth and J. Edward Bulau. She graduated from
Penfield High School in 1961 before studying art at Rochester Institute of Technology. She was a
dedicated and celebrated employee of Bausch and Lomb for 50 years.
Reta was a loving daughter, sister, neighbor, and friend. Everyone who knew Reta knew how
much she adored her beautiful poodles Blanca, Abby, Pandy and Jasmine. Each fur baby held a
special place in her heart and was treasured, pampered, and treated like the little furry diva she
was. If you knew Reta, it is also likely you were the recipient of many a greeting card that she
sent over the years, celebrating holidays and supporting those she loved. She had longstanding
Saturday phone call dates spanning decades with both her sister and mother.
Reta will also be remembered for whizzing around town in her Ford Mustang, much to the
shock and awe of the younger generations and admiration of car enthusiasts.
She is predeceased by her beloved husband of 58 years, Robert "Joe" Heslor. She is survived by
her sister, Shirley Thieser, and brother, James Edward (Cynthia) Bulau and her beloved poodle,
Jasmine. She also leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-
nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday September 28 from 2:00-4:00 at Jennings, Nulton & Mattle
Funeral Home, 1704 Penfield Road.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, ASPCA, Veterans of
Foreign Wars, Lollypop Farm and Monroe County Sheriff's Foundation.
