Angela Renna (Ciccolella), 99, of Pittsford, New York, passed away on September 9, 2025, in Rochester, New York.
Angela was born in Formia, Italy to Erasmo and Generosa Ciccolella on July 17, 1926. She grew up on the family farm and witnessed both good times, raising crops and tending animals; as well as bad, witnessing the horrors of war as it swept through her town. In 1955, she was giving the opportunity to emigrate to the United States, being sponsored as a seamstress for the Hickey Freeman Clothing Company in Rochester, NY, and then eventually Eastman Kodak to her retirement. Married to her loving husband, Vincenzo Renna, in 1958, they lived in the city of Rochester, eventually moving to West Irondequoit and Webster, NY. She spent the last 3 1/2 years of her life living with her friends at Heather Heights Assisted Living in Pittsford, NY.
Angela was known for her Italian cuisine and luxurious gardens. As a gracious host and amazing cook and baker, the family will most remember her "Sunday Sauce" gatherings, "Chicken Pastina", as well as her "Lemon Chocolate Cake" dessert. She also loved working the land as was evident in both her flower gardens with beautiful roses, and fruit trees that she shared with family and neighbors.
Angela has respectfully asked that there be no calling hours prior to her entombment. A private entombment ceremony will be held at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery where she will be joined with her beloved husband, Vincenzo.
Angela is survived by her only son, Michael (Tina); grandchildren, Emily (Elliot), Katelyn (Ben), Michaela, Kristina, and Joseph (Leah); and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews in Italy. She is predeceased by her husband, Vincenzo; parents, Erasmo and Generosa; and siblings, Olga, Rita, Pietro, Libera, Vincenzina, Pasqual, Elizabeta, and Asunda.
Kindly consider donations in Angela’s name to Lollypop Farm Humane Society of Greater Rochester.
