Virginia K. Clark Obituary

Picture: Ginny with her son Roger on a birthday outing in 2021

Virginia K. Clark - PENFIELD - August 31, 2025.  Predeceased by son Wayne, husband Peter, and sister Carol.  Survived by son Roger (Lara); grandson Noah; three nieces and a nephew.

Virginia was born in Niagara Falls to a father who worked as a lineman for Niagara Mohawk Power Company. She came to Rochester to attend the U of R where she graduated as a registered nurse and went on to work as head nurse at Xerox for several years before she met Peter. They were married and after unsuccessful attempts at having children of their own, adopted Wayne who was a 1 year old hemophiliac.  A few years later, Roger was born and she retired from working to be full-time mother and part-time nurse to 2 children whom she lovingly raised. Throughout her life she gave unapologetically of her time and talents in sewing, weaving, cooking, and nursing to care for loved ones or even other neighborhood children with cuts and scrapes. Later in life she and Peter unofficially adopted several families from Kosovo and helped them become successful members of the Rochester community and made sure they were secure and well looked after.

She was a member of the Weaver’s Guild of Rochester, the Red Hat Club, the Friday Club, and the Friends of the Public Library in Penfield, where she met many great friends over the years. She tackled health challenges later in life, and always fought to overcome them with grace and determination.
