Philip's academic journey began with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Alfred State, followed by a Computer Programming degree from the Rochester Institute of Technology. His professional life was a testament to his passion for engineering and technology, as he worked diligently in roles ranging from engineer to management positions. Philip also served his country with honor in the Air Force Reserves, a commitment that reflected his sense of duty and patriotism.
In his personal life, Philip was cherished as a loving husband to Phyllis Dann, with whom he shared 65 wonderful years of marriage. He was a devoted father to Cynthia M. Dann and Philip A. Dann. Philip was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Lisa Dann, and his brothers, Frank and Fred Dann. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis, daughter, Cynthia Marini, son Philip (Kelly) Dann, granddaughter, Michaela Marini, grandson, Jack Gibbons, and brother, Alan Dann.
Philip was a man of remarkable warmth and charisma, known for making instant connections wherever he went. His ability to become fast friends with anyone in the room was a testament to his genuine kindness and open heart. His friendships were numerous and cherished by all who knew him.
Beyond his personal and professional endeavors, Philip was a committed community advocate. He organized and coordinated efforts for fair property tax assessments and was actively involved in environmental initiatives in the Finger Lakes region. His contributions to these causes demonstrated his unwavering commitment to improving the world around him.
Philip was predeceased by his parents, Gerald and Marion Dann, who would undoubtedly be proud of the legacy he leaves behind. The Dann family wishes to express their gratitude to all who have offered their support and condolences during this time.
