Catherine "Kay" S. Brenna shuffled off this mortal coil on June 18th, 2025, at the ripe old age of 95.  Born in Rochester NY, and passed away in Rochester, NY.  She is predeceased by husband, Robert L Brenna, Sr.; brother, Benny Sortino,, and sister, Nancy Calcagno. 

She had one child, Robert L Brenna, Jr., who survives her, along with her beloved daughter -in-law, Judy Brenna. Also survived by grandchildren Bobby Brenna, and Liz Brenna, great grandchildren, Ocean and Zeta, and many  nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly. 

A graduate of Monroe High, where she learned Shorthand, typing, and skills which made her a fantastic Paralegal, without additional training. She was the glue that helped the law firm of  Brenna & Brenna survive the illness and passing of her husband, and therefore, made the launch of her son’s legal career possible.

Friends, staff and everyone at the River Edge Manor, her last beloved home, made her life wonderful.  Our thank you to all of them remains insufficient. Many thanks to her friend and aide, JoAnne Kelly, who ensured  her happiness throughout her final year.

Kay was gracious with her time and experience for anyone in need of her help. She especially loved being with all family members.

Her sense of humor is the first thing family and friends remember about her, and she literally lit up the room, according to all who knew, and loved her. She is sadly missed, despite the certainty of death.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 4-7 p.m., Jennings, Nulton & Mattle Funeral Home, 1704 Penfield Road, Penfield.  Her Memorial Mass will be on Thursday, July 3, 10:30 a.m., St. Joseph's Church, 43 Gebhardt Road, Penfield.  Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery will be private. 

In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a donation in her memory to the Alzheimer's Association of Rochester, St. Jude's Children Hospital or Mt. Carmel House.
