Obituary of Louis J. Trabalzi Jr.
January 1, 1937 to April 9, 2025
Predeceased by his parents, Louis & Antoinette Trabalzi; sisters, Angela (Carl) Masters and Jean Hogan; brothers, Anthony Trabalzi and Samuel Trabalzi; son-in-law, Jim Evans; daughter, Theresa (Ray) DeRosa and granddaughter, Gina Laird.
Survived by his loving wife, Gail (Hopkins) Trabalzi; children, Annette (Bill) Laird, Mary (Ray) Parrish, Cindy Evans, Samuel (Kendra) Trabalzi, Louis (Kate) Trabalzi; step-children, Cheryl (Pete) Schillaci and Gary (Terri) Hopkins. Lou has 21 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and many great friends that all love him and will dearly miss his company.
He grew up in Charlotte and later moved to the Penfield area where he started landscaping. Later on, he met Gail, and at one time they worked together for the Penfield Bus Garage. Lou was a long time member of the Penfield Lions Club for over 20 years. During this time, he was also involved with the Ronald McDonald House and the Penfield Parks. He was also a part of the Penfield Pop Warner Football for several years.
One of the things he and his wife loved to do was square dancing. They were members of the Copy Cats Square Dancing Club, where he was President for a time.
One of the his favorite past times was to spend their time together watching their grandchildren participating in sports and school activities. Even when he had some health issues, he always came to root them on.
After retiring from landscaping, he worked at St. John's driving people wherever they needed to go. He often organized outings for them such as a trip to the casino! Lou and Gail also donated a lot of their time to St. Joseph's Church in Penfield. They also donated their time to the Dimitri House on a weekly basis for several years.
One of his other favorite passions was to play cards with his poker buddies every week for over 20 years. He and Gail often liked to go to the casino for a night out. They also enjoyed watching football games on TV at home and always rooted for the Bills! What he truly loved most of all was cooking for the family and friend's BBQ's and holidays either spent around the pool or inside, but always surrounded by his loving family. He has made an impact on many family and friends and will be truly missed and thought of more than often.
Services are May 1st for the calling hours between 4-7 PM at Jennings, Nulton & Mattle Funeral Home located at 1704 Penfield Road, Penfield, NY 14526.
