Obituary of Jared Lee McNutt
Jared McNutt, 43, of Penfield, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 1, from a previously undiagnosed medical condition while on vacation in Florida with his family. He is predeceased by his parents, Robert Lee and Sandra Darlene (Wellen) McNutt of Indiana, PA.
Jared is survived by his wife of 17 years, Michelle McNutt; children, Aiden McNutt (13) and Sydney McNutt (10), who were his whole world; siblings Jason (Laura) McGaughey and Justin (Krista) McNutt; father- and mother-in-law, Michael and Pamela Abraham; sister-in-law, Laura (Eric) Volin; and nieces and nephews, Marissa Moore, Madison McGaughey, Gavin Miller, Jaxin McNutt, Olivia Volin and Anara Volin.
Born in 1981 and raised in Indiana, PA, Jared earned his Bachelor of Science from Pennsylvania College of Technology in Williamsport, PA, and began his career with Eastman Kodak Company in 2003. There, he met his wife, Michelle, and moved with her to work at Ensign Bickford Aerospace in Simsbury, CT. Jared was most recently employed as an aerospace safety engineering manager for L3Harris Corporation in Rochester, NY.
Jared was a comedian who loved to make people feel welcome and see them smile. His children always got a good laugh at his physical comedy, or a good eye roll when he tried to embarrass them by waving at strangers or sticking chopsticks up his nose. He lived his life trying to bring people joy.
He loved to cook, and he was good at it. His mother also showed her love by feeding those around her, and whenever either of them was involved, you knew there would be more than enough to make everyone feel welcome.
Jared loved to build things, from carving pumpkins out of fallen trees in his yard to beautiful furniture, nightlights for his family and a treehouse for his children. He found joy in figuring it out, solving the problem and making each project beautifully perfect.
Jared shared his love for the outdoors with his son and daughter. Educating them and helping them learn to fish and hunt responsibly was something they all loved doing together. He enjoyed traveling with his family, sharing the wonders and beauty of the world with them.
