Vance R. Collom, Jr. Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Vance Ralph Collom Jr. Predeceased by Vance Sr. and Elizabeth Collom and sister, Evelyn Turner. Survived by loving wife, Judy Collom, and sons, Wayne (Rosemarie), Vance III (Mindi), and Brian (Vicky); grandchildren, Matthew (Valentina), Jonathan (Sara), Alexander, Nicole, Phillip, and Brooke; great-grandchildren, Cassandra and Tyler.


Vance served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves as Private First Class. Additionally, Vance served as an Elder, Financial Secretary, and numerous other positions at Penfield Presbyterian Church since 1972. Vance also was a 32nd degree Mason at Lodge 538 since 1984 holding multiple positions including Commander and Secretary of War Veterans. Vance was also active at the Damascus Shrine Center.


A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday February 8th 2025 at 11 am with reception to follow at Penfield Presbyterian Church 1881 Jackson Rd Penfield NY 14526. In lieu of flowers, please make any donations to the Shriners Children’s Hospital at 1645 W 8th St Erie PA 16505 in his memory.


Vance will always be remembered for his kind heart, optimistic attitude, his love of family, and his famous quote: “It’s a great life, if you don’t weaken”.
