Survived by husband, Steven Searls; son, Daniel Ooyama-Searls; daughter, Rachel (Christopher) Cormack; mother, Yoko Ooyama; brother, Bob (Catherine) Ooyama; many nieces and nephews, including, Gabrielle, Tessa, Lydia Ooyama, Jacob Searls.
