Obituary of Rosemarie Ruhland

Ruhland, Rosemarie Penfield: May 8, 2017 at age 82. Rosemarie is predeceased by her brother, Fritz. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, John; children, Catherine (Frederic) Ruhland-Mauhs, Charlotte (Paul) Vessel, John (Angela Ying) Ruhland, Christina (Dan) Rank, and Constance Ruhland; 10 grandchildren; brothers, Johann, Hannelore and Lieselotte. Rosemarie was born in 1934 in German Silesia, now part of Poland. As a result of World War II, her family became refugees eventually settling in West Germany. She met her husband John while hiking in the Alps and followed him to America in 1958 where they married. Rosemarie was a dedicated and devoted mother. Her hobbies included downhill ski racing, photography and gardening. In her later years, she was a committed docent at the Memorial Art Gallery sharing her passion for art with others. No prior calling. A memorial mass will be held Saturday, 11am at St. Joseph's Church, 43 Gebhardt Rd, Penfield. Interment St. Joseph's Cemetery.
