Obituary of Son X. Nguyen

Son Nguyen of Fairport passed away with his family by his side on May 11, 2016. Son is survived by his loving wife, Dzung of almost 45 years and his children, Anthony (Martha), Dominic (Lee) and Helen; grandchildren, Mikayla and Casen. Son was a strong individual who survived being held as a POW at the end of the Vietnam War and being separated from his family for 15 years. He was a devoted husband, a wonderful father, worked as a Supervisor at Community Development Services for 17 years, was a member of the Vietnamese Community in Rochester and had a strong faith in God. Son led a full life where he enjoyed writing and publishing for the Vietnamese community and stamp and money books. He loved photography and always had a camera in his hand. He stayed active taking exercise classes in the Perinton Community Center, where he especially loved Zumba. Son and his wife enjoyed their retirement years by traveling all around the world. Wherever Son went, he smiled. Son's Memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday 9 AM at Church of the Assumption, 20 East Ave., Fairport, where a Vietnamese Prayer Service Will follow until 10:30. A reception will be held following the Prayer Service.
