Obituary of Teresa G. Shomphe

Teresa G. Shomphe of Manchester-by-the-Sea passed away peacefully on December 29, 2017. She was 91 years old. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and love: for her family and for her town. While for the past few years she lived with her son, Peter, and daughter-in-law, Anne, in California and New York her heart was always in Manchester-by-the-Sea. She loved the people and the places of her town, always enthusiastic to show off her town to visitors. Teresa was born in Waltham, MA in 1926 and was married to William (deceased). She had a love for fishing, chocolate and the ocean which she generously shared with her family. She lit up the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren with her love and she was always proud to talk about them to anyone who would listen. Teresa was predeceased by her son Michael, is survived by her son & daughter-in-law, Peter and Anne Shomphe her son Mark, her grandsons, Matt & Joe, her granddaughters-in-law, Claire & Lori, and three great-grandchildren, Jack, Abbie, and Zoey. Keeping with Teresa's wishes there will be no visiting hours and funeral services will be private. Donations in her memory may be made to a charity of one's choosing.
