Ann Marie Valone, 87 of Penfield NY, went home to live for eternity with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on the 1st day of February 2018. Ann Marie, the youngest of 7 children, was born in April 1930 to Samuel and Rosalia Valone in Jamestown, NY. She was preceded in death by her parents, her four brothers, James, Joseph, Anthony, and Salvatore, and her sisters, Louise Marucci and Rose Prentice. She is survived by her longtime friend of 43 years, Art Pelletier, a daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Carmen Verzillo, grandsons Paul and Michael Verzillo, and extended Valone family members.
Ann Marie grew up in Jamestown, graduating from Jamestown High school in 1948. She attended the University of Buffalo, and graduated from Erie Community College in Dental Hygiene, as well as SUNY College at Brockport with a bachelor's degree. She worked for many years as a dental hygiene teacher at Kendall Central School and finished her career as Director of the Rochester Dental Assistant's School. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Honor Society for teachers.
Ann Marie was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Penfield. She appreciated many people who helped her through these last years of life: Art Pelletier who loves her dearly and was always ready to help her; her house aide Patty McKenna; her very dear neighbors, the Kuryla family and the Khabursky family who treated her like a member of their families, as did her longtime friend of 36 years, Robbie Spryn; and her many friends from St. Joseph's Church.
No prior Calling. Ann Marie's Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, February 10, 2018 12 NOON at St. Joseph's Church, 43 Gebhardt Road, Penfield. A Memorial Mass will be held Monday, February 12, 2018, 1PM at St. James Church, 27 Allen Street, Jamestown, NY 14701. Interment, Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Jamestown, NY.
